A great place to start your coastal exploration is Rialto Beach. Located at the end of the Mora Road, you can drive right to the coast. Take a short walk along the beach or venture 1.5 miles north along the coast to Hole-in- the-Wall, a sea-carved arch with rocky tide pools when the tide is low. Rialto Beach is also a starting point for backpackers exploring the North Coast. Be sure to have a required backcountry permit and bear canister for food storage. Contact the Wilderness Information Center for more information about permits, food storage and essential tide information. Rialto Beach is a coastal playground with something for everyone to enjoy.
