82. Quinault Driving Tour

A 31 mile loop drive around Lake Quinault and through the surrounding rain forest is another way for visitors to explore this scenic area.  Pick up a written guide from the information station on the South Shore or just drive the loop and discover on your own.  Look for towering trees with lush, green, draping mosses and ferns scattered along the forest floor.  Keep an eye out for waterfalls, beautiful lake views and perhaps Roosevelt elk or black bear.  Take a break at the park’s Quinault Rain Forest Ranger Station, or one of the Forest Service campgrounds if you need to stretch your legs.  Keep in mind that a section of the road is gravel but well maintained.  Be sure to check at a Ranger Station for current road conditions or call (360)565-3131 for a recorded road and weather message. Spur roads lead from the loop drive to Graves Creek and North Fork trailheads.
